Groton Rewriting Zoning Rules, Wants More Input From Residents

Groton officials said they want more involvement from residents as they work to rewrite the town's zoning rules.

GROTON, CT - Groton officials said they want more involvement from residents as they work to rewrite the town's zoning rules, the New London Day reported. Officials said only two to three people on average have shown up at recent meetings, and they would like more people to be involved so they can assess any issues earlier in the process.

Town officials have been examining Groton's zoning regulations for over a year after an audit recommended they be rewritten, according to the New London Day. It has been over 30 years since the town's regulations were updated.

Town officials hope to have the new regulations completed by the fall of 2018, according to the New London Day. The commission will next meet on Wednesday, Jan. 3 in the Town Hall Annex at 6:30 p.m.
