Update: Massive Police Search Not Stabbing Suspect

A wide-scale search for a man reported to police as resembling the Stonington stabbing suspect turned out not to be Carlton T. Henderson Jr.

GROTON, CT - As was originally reported, police activity near Catherine Kolnaski Magnet School put the school in 'secure mode' before dismissal Monday. Day care centers too were placed in lock-down.

Shortly after kids were on their way home, police then alerted residents via text and email that they were conducting a suspect search. Police would not initially confirm to Patch who the suspect was. But in the alert, they said they'd be searching in the area of Long Hill Road to Poquonnock Road to Rainville Avenue. Officers from Connecticut State Police, Waterford, Groton City, and Stonington police departments as well as Amtrak, even Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police as well as K9s were involved.

And while there were social media reports that the police activity may have been related to the hunt for Carlton T. Henderson Jr., the suspect in the vicious stabbing in Pawcatuck Saturday morning, Stonington Police Capt. Todd Olson told Patch Henderson was not captured.
