Temporary Water Shut-Off, Discoloration For Some Mystic Streets
Part of a multi-street water main replacement project, some customers may have temporary water discoloration and shut-offs, Aquarion says.

MYSTIC, CT—As water lines are switched to new mains, some streets in downtown Mystic will have temporary cut-offs and discolored water this week and going forward. Water customers should have bottled water on hand for drinking, cooking and washing. Clift Street water lines will be switched over this week and Pearl and Gravel streets, beginning Aug. 20.
The Aquarion Water Company's multi-street water main replacement project in Mystic, which began in March, includes replacement of aged water mains on Gravel Street, Clift Street, Pearl Street, Bank Street and Academy Lane along with water mains on Old Evarts Lane, Walter Fish Avenue, New London Road and Irving Street.
Aquarion says customers should store water in refrigerators for drinking and cooking just in case. The water company also says people should not wash laundry in discolored water, and "run their cold-water faucets until the water appears clear."
