Of the two new cases, one is at Guilford Lakes and the other at Melissa Jones elementary schools.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in Guilford Public Schools now stands at four. A report that there was a case at Baldwin Middle School turned out to be a false positive, Freeman said.

Students who have tested positive were told to remain in isolation for 10 days and contact tracing is underway by the health department to identify people with whom the students have had close contact in the past 24 hours. Those people will be advised to stay home for 14 days since the last time they were near the student, in person to see if they develop symptoms.
