Guilford Announces New School Principal

The position became available after an educator resigned to take a schools job at the state level.

GUILFORD, CT – A new principal at Guilford Lakes Elementary School was appointed by a unanimous vote of the Board of Education Monday night. Mandy Ryan, principal of the Old Saybrook Middle School since 2013, was approved by a 5-0 vote to be the new principal.

Before being middle school principal in Old Saybrook, Ryan served as interim director of curriculum, instruction and assessment and assistant principal in the middle school in Old Saybrook.

She also has been a language arts and social studies teacher in Fairfield and East Lyme.

In Guilford she will be replacing Jill Hale.

Hale resigned at the end of the last school year to take the position of assistant director for Elementary Programs and Services with the Connecticut Association of Schools.

Hale had been the principal of Guilford Lakes since 2012.
