Board of Education Names Lakes School Principal
Jill Hale is a longtime local teacher and administrator.

The Board of Education has named Jill Hale as the new principal of .
In a recent letter to parents, School Superintendent Paul Freeman said Hale was selected by a search committee following a lengthy process that included dozens of applicants.

“The Interview Committee completed a very thorough evaluation of the 43 applicants, recommending 10 to be interviewed,” Freeman said in his letter. “After the initial round of interviews the Committee recommended three final candidates. The caliber of the candidates was outstanding and both Jill, and the other finalists, were excellent choices by the Committee.”
The Board of Education ratified the search committee’s selection at its regular meeting last month. Freeman said parents will have the opportunity to meet Hale at the Lakes School Open House on Aug. 29.

Since 2003 Hale has worked as the assistant principal of the Walter Polson Middle School in Madison and before that she served as the assistant principal of the J. Milton Jeffrey School in Madison from 2001-2003.
She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1981 and earned a Master’s Degree in education at Southern Connecticut State University in 1992. She got her sixth-year degree in educational administration in 1997 from Central Connecticut State University.
She worked as a teacher in the Madison school district and Madison private schools from 1981 to 2000, teaching students in grades 1 through 8.
