Guilford Public Schools Calendar 2016-17

GUILFORD, CT — You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2016-17 school year in the Guilford Public School System.

First day of school: August 31

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 5

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 10

Yom Kippur (school closed): Oct. 12

Early Dismissal: Oct. 26

Nov. 8 (no school for students)

Thanksgiving (school closed): 23, 24, 25

Winter break: Dec-26 to Jan. 2 (school resumes Jan. 3)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16

Early Dismissal: Jan. 25

Presidents Day/ Winter Break (school closed): Feb. 20. 21

No School Students: March 10

Early Dismissal: March 22

Spring Break: April 10-14, which includes Good Friday

Early Dismissal: April 26

No School Students: May 12

Early Dismissal: May 24

Memorial Day (school closed): May 29

Early Dismissal: June 12

Last day of school: June 13

Emergency Closing Make-up Days
June 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 (In case of extenuating circumstances, other calendar adjustments may be made (i.e. April vacation)
