Benjamin J. “Benny” Mazzucco Jr. 69, of Guilford formerly of East Haven passed away on January 24, 2016 in CT. Hospice.

Loving father of Kelly (Robert) A. Shaffer of Prospect, Biagio J. Mazzucco III of Hamden, Tammy (Anthony) Afragola of Guilford, Mark (Melissa) Mazzucco of East Haven and Kimberly (Michael) Quinn of Raleigh, NC. Grandfather of Adam Afragola, Robert D. Shaffer, Olivia Mazzucco, Jamie-Lynn Shaffer and Joy Quinn. Brother of Ann (Ben) Federico of North Haven, Marie (Robert) Purcell, Peter (Joanne) Mazzucco and Ronald (Elizabeth) Mazzucco all of East Haven and the late Carmel Jarmie. Ben was born in New Haven on October 20, 1946 son of the late Biagio “Benjamin” J. and Maria “Mary” Levatino Mazzucco Sr.

Prior to his retirement Benny was a State Marshall for the State of Connecticut and also a member of the East Haven Rotary Club, three time past president of the Foxon Recreation League and a councilman for the Town of East Haven.

Relatives and friends are invited to go DIRECTLY to St George’s Church 33 Whitfield St. Guilford on THURSDAY morning to celebrate A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be private.

Friends may call WEDNESDAY from 5pm to 8pm in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Haven Rotary Clothe the Children 12 Oak Hill Drive East Haven, CT. 06513.
