The goal of the meeting is to review the recently completed Guilford Affordable Housing Existing Conditions Report developed by the SCRCOG and consultant RKG Associates Inc.

The existing conditions report will serve as the first section of the forth coming affordable housing plan and is aimed at establishing a baseline of current socio-economic and demographic characteristics of Guilford, the town noted in a release.

More specifically, the baseline analysis encompasses data points ranging from population and housing characteristics to general economic indicators and labor force statistics, according to town officials. The data "provides an opportunity to identify current local trends and/or quantify and detail, more specifically, known trends experienced by local stakeholders," per the town.

The town said the goal is to inform and guide "future sections of the affordable housing plan involving issues and opportunities, goals, and strategies for increasing Guilford’s affordable housing stock."

The public meeting will address myriad questions, including what the data shows, the existing housing goals of the community, and what residents want addressed, among others.
