2 Arrested For Home Burglary, Stealing Vehicle: Hamden Police

Police say the suspects entered the home through a bedroom window while the victim was sleeping and stole several items.

HAMDEN, CT — Two people have been arrested in connection to a home burglary in which several items were stolen, including electronic equipment and the victim’s vehicle, Wednesday in Hamden, according to police.

The burglary occurred on Mill Rock Road and the suspects entered through a bedroom window while the resident was sleeping, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Several hours later, Det. Joseph Liguori and Sgt. Michael Nawrocki located the stolen vehicle on Bassett Street in New Haven. Two people were standing near the stolen vehicle and police determined that they were responsible for burglarizing the Mill Rock Road home and stealing the vehicle, Smith said.

Tracey Ray, 22, of Ferry Street in Middletown, was arrested on charges of first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary. He was detained on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 1.

A 17-year-old New Haven resident, whose name wasn’t released because of his age, was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary. He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on Oct. 1.
