6 Hamden, New Haven Teens In Stolen Car Arrested In Milford: PD

Police say the teens, who were all younger than 16, got out of the car and made a run for it before being apprehended.

MILFORD, CT — Six juveniles from Hamden and New Haven were arrested for being inside a stolen car in Milford, police said. At 3 a.m. Wednesday, Officer Justin Eddy saw an occupied suspicious vehicle in a neighborhood off of West Avenue, and through investigation, learned that the vehicle was stolen, police said.

Eddy stopped the car and was approached by six juveniles, two 13 year olds, two 14-year-olds, and two 15 year-olds from Hamden and New Haven, who all fled on foot through backyards in the Innsbruck Street area, police said.

A perimeter was established and, utilizing MPD K9 Diesel, all six were tracked down and taken into custody without incident.

"Milford, as well as other surrounding communities, has experienced a rash of unlocked vehicles
being gone through and stolen during the overnight hours. Milford Police Department urges
residents to please lock your vehicles and bring your valuables inside at night. Together, we can help reduce crime," Milford police say.
