Thomas Kevin Carney Sr., 55

Thomas Kevin Carney Sr. 55, of Hamden died on September 12, 2011 surrounded by family and the wonderful staff of the CTICU at YNHH.

Son of the late Edward Carney Sr. and Jennie Carney. Adoring husband for 34 years of the late Patricia Carney, proud father of Michele Manny (Adam), Thomas Carney Jr. (Amy), James Carney (Heather) and Jonathan Carney and loving grandfather of Orion, Patrick and Connor Carney. Predeceased by a brother Michael Carney. Survived by his twin brother Brian Carney (Betty) along with brothers Edward Carney Jr. (Julie), Bruce Carney (Paula) and James Carney (Nancy).

Prior to his illness, Thomas worked in computer sales for 35 years, volunteered with the elderly at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and was passionately involved in the Hamden/North Haven Relay for Life. For many years he was a proud and dedicated coach for the Hamden Youth Hockey Association. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading to his grandchildren, golfing and cruising on his motorcycle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Friday at 10 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Friends are asked to go directly to church. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 - 8 pm in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
