The teen thought he was meeting up with a prostitute in Hamden, but ended up getting robbed and kidnapped instead, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A 19-year-old Hamden resident has been arrested in connection to the robbery and kidnapping of another teen who thought he was meeting up with a prostitute in Hamden this past October, according to police. The victim, a 19-year-old New Haven resident, reported to Hamden Police that he was robbed on Oct. 5. The teen told police that was scheduled to meet with a “prostitute” on State Street.
When he arrived on State Street, he was approached by two men who told him that they were in the possession of a firearm, while rummaging through his pockets and stealing $140, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. Shortly thereafter, the two men “forced” the teen victim into the backseat of his motor vehicle, according to Smith.
Smith said one of the suspects drove the victim’s vehicle, while the other sat with the victim in the backseat. They subsequently drove to several local ATMs and stole an additional $600 from the victim’s bank accounts, according to Smith. The victim was then driven to a residence in New Haven, where he was released and his vehicle was returned.
