Car Windows Smashed In Recent Burglaries: Hamden Police

Police responded to several reports of thefts from motor vehicles, but these were different than the usual "unlocked vehicles were entered…"

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police recently responded to several reports of thefts from motor vehicles, but these burglaries were different than the usual “unlocked vehicles were entered overnight...” This time, each vehicle’s window was smashed and was forcibly entered.

The burglaries took place on Oct. 13 in the vicinity of Armory Street/Laurel Road/Goodrich Street, according to police. The items stolen included change, gift cards, sneakers and a leather bag. To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.

“Hamden Police would like to advise residents to take several precautions,” Capt. Ronald Smith wrote in a press release. “First, if possible, vehicles should be parked in a well-lit area. Vehicles should be locked at all times. It is extremely important to remove ALL valuables from the vehicle, including small change. Finally, residents are encouraged to contact the Hamden Police Department whenever suspicious activity is observed.”
