Crack Cocaine, Heroin Seized in Drug Bust: Hamden Police
Officers concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of the suspected dealer.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police seized 24 bags of crack cocaine, 10 bags of heroin and $467 during a drug bust on Friday night.
Members of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team concluded a drug investigation at 141 Arch Street at about 7 p.m. on Dec. 9 with the arrest of Joseph Vereen, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said officers observed a drug transaction in progress at the Arch Street location. Further investigation led to the discovery of 24 bags of crack cocaine and 10 bags of heroin inside of Vereen’s vehicle, according to Smith. Officers also seized $467.

Vereen, 27, of Ferry Street in New Haven, was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with the intent to sell. Vereen, who was detained on a $25,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 21.
