HAMDEN, CT — A downed utility pole has closed a portion of Whitney Avenue in Hamden, according to fire officials. Crews are on the scene where transformers are leaking in front of 915 Whitney Avenue, near Armory Street, officials said.
No injuries were reported and there is a local power outage for repairs. United Illuminating is on the scene and fire officials are advising motorists to avoid the area.
