Driver Extricated After Crashing Into Utility Pole in Hamden: Police
The driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries early Saturday morning, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A driver was extricated and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following an early Saturday morning crash on Whitney Avenue, according to police.
Hamden Police responded to the area of Whitney Avenue between Brooksvale Avenue and River Road at about 1:37 a.m. on Dec. 31 on the report of a motor vehicle accident.
Police said investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Whitney Avenue, veered off the road and struck a utility pole.

The utility pole snapped, causing down overhead wires, according to police.
The Hamden Fire Department responded, extricated the operator (single occupant) who was later transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
