Election 2016 Results: Hamden Vote Totals for President, U.S. Senate and Local Races

HAMDEN, CT — On Election Night in Hamden, town residents preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump for president by an 18,962 to 7,790 vote.
Clinton earned 68.4 percent of the vote in Hamden, Trump received 28.1 percent, while Gary Johnson earned 549 votes, or 1.98 percent, and Jill Stein received 348 votes or 1.2 percent.
In the race for U.S. Senate, Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., amassed 19,895 votes on multiple lines and his opponent Dan Carter, a Republican, received 5,987 votes in Hamden.

In the 3rd U.S. Congressional race, Democratic incumbent Rosa DeLauro received 20,151 votes on multiple party lines in Hamden while Republican challenger Angel Cadena collected 6,136.
In local races, while longtime Democratic incumbent State Sen. Joseph Crisco lost an upset to Republican George Logan in the 17th District, he won the vote in Hamden. Crisco received 6,834 votes on multiple party lines in Hamden and Logan finished with 4,438.

In the 11th State Senatorial District, longtime Democratic incumbent Martin Looney ran unopposed and collected 11,287 votes in Hamden.
Democrat Josh Elliot claimed the seat of Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey, who announced in May that he wouldn’t seek re-election and would retire from the state legislature, in the 88th District by defeating Republican Marjorie Bonadies.
Elliott received 6,292 votes on multiple lines while Bonadies had 3,874.
In the 91st District, State Representative Michael D’Agostino, a Democrat, defeated Republican challenger by an 8,333 to 3,377 vote.
In the 94th District, which covers Hamden and New Haven, Robyn Porter ran unopposed and received 3,734 votes in Hamden.
