Employee Injured During Liquor Store Robbery: Hamden Police

One of the suspects shoved the 55-year-old female employee to the ground while stealing three bottles of liquor, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A 55-year-old female employee was injured when she was shoved to the ground during a liquor store robbery in which two people stole more than $100 worth of alcohol Friday night in Hamden, according to police. At about 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 14, Hamden Police responded to 1890 Liquor Store, located at 1890 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of “shoplifting, involving injuries,” according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that two individuals entered the store and stole three bottles of liquor, which was valued at $105.97. One of the individuals, described as a black female, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, pushed the 55-year-old female employee to the ground, according to Smith. The employee suffered a shoulder injury. The suspects subsequently fled westbound on Benham Street in a silver Volkswagen “hatchback,” Smith said.
