Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint In Hamden: Police

A man wearing a face mask robbed the store at gunpoint around 2 a.m. on Friday, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A gas station was robbed at gunpoint during the overnight hours Friday in Hamden, according to police. The robbery took place around 2 a.m. on April 3 at the Shell Food Mart, 1994 Whitney Ave., in Hamden.

Police found that the suspect, who was wearing a face mask, entered the store holding a “shotgun-style firearm,” according to Capt. Ronald Smith. The suspect, described as a white or “light-skinned” man about 5-feet, 2-inches tall with a thin build, pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money, Smith said.

The suspect ran from the store southbound on Whitney Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen entering a gray Nissan, according to Smith.
