Missing Hamden Middle School Student, 12, Found In New Jersey: PD
The student went missing on Friday and was found safe in New Jersey, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — Yasmani Reyes, the 12-year-old Hamden Middle School student who went missing on Friday, was found at Walmart in Toms River, New Jersey, at about 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said Hamden Police, with the assistance of the FBI, had tracked Reyes to the Toms River area. Authorities notified her relatives and she was found by her grandmother.
“The Hamden Police Department would like to thank the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Toms River Police Department for their assistance,” Smith said. “Members of the Hamden Police Department, specifically, Detective Matthew Barbuto, Detective Mark Sheppard, Detective Dennis Ryan, Officer Craig Appleby and Sergeant Michael Nawrocki worked tirelessly to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion.”

(Original post) HAMDEN, CT — A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 12-year-old Hamden Middle School student. On Sept. 6, School Resource Officer Craig Appleby was notified by the Hamden Middle School Principal that a “student was believed to be missing,” according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that Yasmani Reyes, 12, was brought to the middle school Friday morning by her grandfather. When administrators attempted to locate her, she wasn’t in class. Further investigation revealed that her grandmother’s credit card was used earlier in the day at a business located in the Hamden Mart, according to Smith.

Reyes was last seen entering a blue four-door Chrysler, Smith said.
Reyes is described as a light-skinned female and is 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a navy-blue sweatshirt, black “yoga” style pants, an orange T-shirt and glasses.
