Hamden, Ct: Junior Girl Scout Troop 60917 planting a tree for Arbor Day at Dunbar United Church of Christ. Tom is a member of the Church. He is a park ranger, avid conservationist and is on the town tree committee. He donated a pink dogwood tree.

The Troop meets at the Church regularly for their Girl Scout meetings and is often working on the Church's grounds. The Girls are in charge of the vegetable garden. The Girls next project with Tom is a pollinator garden at the Church so they can complete a Journey. A Journey is carefully designed to teach girls to come up with their own ideas, build teams, realize their full potential, and experience the joy of making a positive impact. The vegetable garden and the pollinator garden are completely funded by proceeds Troop 60917 has earned during the Girl Scout cookie season.
