Hamden Announces Partnership with "Solar for All"
Mayor Supports solar & energy efficiency program aimed to help homeowners keep their hard-earned money while making homes more Comfortable.

From the Town of Hamden: Mayor Curt Balzano Leng is pleased to announce Hamden’s participation in the “Solar for All” program, which is a partnership between the Connecticut Green Bank and PosiGen Solar, to make clean energy more accessible and affordable to all Hamden homeowners. PosiGen’s lease program
covers the full cost of installing, maintaining and insuring the solar system, with no minimum income, no credit score requirement and no equipment to buy. The partnership also seeks to reward nonprofits, parent-teacher associations, and community groups with a $200 referral incentive for homeowners that are installed and activated by PosiGen.
Commenting, Mayor Curt Balzano Leng said, “I am very pleased to announce this new energy efficiency
partnership. Hamden is working hard to encourage our residents to seek out and experience the benefits of solar power, and the “Solar for All” program is just the latest step. Our Energy Efficiency Coordinator, Kathleen Schomaker, has been working diligently to establish a number of energy options for Hamden homeowners. I encourage interested residents to reach out for more information on how to potentially reduce their energy costs.”

PosiGen, headquartered in Bridgeport, aims to close what many see as a clean energy affordability gap by
making solar available to all homeowners regardless of income or credit. “We’re changing the misconception
that solar is for the rich with a program that gives homeowners control of their energy costs,” states Beth
Galante, Vice President of Business Development and Government Relations for PosiGen.
The Connecticut Green Bank is happy to provide the financial support for the program. “Not only does Solar
For All give more residents access to affordable clean energy, it is also helping to create healthier homes and
communities across the state,” states Bryan Garcia, President and CEO of the Connecticut Green Bank.
