Hamden Issues Travel Ban

The travel ban is being issued in concurrence with Connecticut's statewide travel ban due to Tuesday's anticipated snowstorm.

HAMDEN, CT — Mayor Curt Balzano Leng, after discussion with public safety officials, has issued a travel ban for the Town of Hamden, effective at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14 and active until further notice. During the travel ban only essential employees and those in emergency situations are allowed to drive on Town streets.

This travel ban is being issued in concurrence with the State of Connecticut’s Statewide Travel Ban, due to expected seriously inclement and dangerous weather forecasts.

All Town non-essential offices will be closed. The Police, Fire, Emergency Management and Public Works and Parks Departments remain working at full force.

Mayor Leng also wishes to remind residents that a parking ban will be in effect beginning at 12:00am on Tuesday, March 14th and active until further notice.

Furthermore, trash and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week and the Hamden Transfer Station will be closed.

The Hamden Fire and Police Departments wish to remind all residents and guests that warming centers are available at all Town Fire Stations and the Police Station Headquarters.

In addition, please remember that the Fire Department can always use your assistance clearing hydrants of snow!
