Hamden Man Admits To Illegally Distributing Steroids: Feds
The man, who is a state correctional officer, was accused of using some of the steroids and selling some to co-workers at a profit.

HAMDEN, CT — A state correctional officer from Hamden faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to illegally distributing steroids, according to authorities. Nicholas Aurora Jr., 33, of Hamden, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty this week in federal court to one count of possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids, U.S. States Attorney for Connecticut John H. Durham announced in a press release.
According to court documents and statements made in court, in December 2017, the Statewide Narcotics Task Force West conducted a court-authorized search of an individual’s residence in Hamden and seized approximately 25,000 pills and 530 vials of anabolic steroids.
“Subsequent analysis of the individual’s cellphone revealed numerous text messages relating to Aurora’s purchase and redistribution of steroids,” according to press release from the U.S. States Attorney’s Office. “The investigation revealed that Aurora was purchasing steroids from his source of supply every two weeks. He personally used some of the steroids, and sold some, at a profit, to coworkers.”
