Hamden Man Charged With Killing Mom To Defend Self: Report

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man who is accused of killing his mother has opted to represent himself in court. Kyle Tucker possesses a law degree from Harvard Law School.

Tucker's public defender filed a motion for him to represent himself with someone from the public defender's office to act as stand-by counsel, according to the New Haven Register.

Tucker is accused of killing his mother Donna Tucker, 60, in June. Police said that Tucker confessed to hitting his mother in the head with a baseball bat and burning her body in the backyard fire pit. He claimed that God made him kill his mother.
