Hamden Man Will Return To Federal Prison For Violations: Feds
Authorities say the man violated terms of his supervised released and has been sentenced to return to federal prison.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man will return to return to federal prison for violating terms of his supervised release, authorities announced. James Dickerson, also known as “Jim Jim,” 35, was sentenced this week to 21 months in prison for the violations, U.S. States Attorney for Connecticut John H. Durham announced.
According to the evidence presented during his trial in April 2013, a joint law enforcement investigation conducted in 2010 by the FBI New Haven Safe Streets Task Force, DEA New Haven Task Force, New Haven Police Department and Hamden Police Department identified and dismantled a large drug trafficking organization centered in the Newhallville section of New Haven and Hamden, authorities said.
“During the investigation, Dickerson was intercepted multiple times over a court-authorized wiretap arranging to purchase distribution quantities of crack cocaine,” according to a press release from the U.S. States Attorney’s Office. “Dickerson also sold crack cocaine to an undercover police officer. On April 25, 2013, Dickerson was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”), and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base. On January 24, 2014, he was sentenced to 168 months of imprisonment. After an appeal, Dickerson was resentenced, on February 29, 2016, to approximately 63 months of imprisonment, time already served, and three years of supervised release.

On May 6, 2018, he was arrested in Cheshire for a variety of offenses stemming from a car chase. These cases were resolved in state court on September 11, 2018.”
Dickerson is currently incarcerated in state custody and has a maximum release date of April 30, 2020. The judge ordered Dickerson to begin serving the 21-month federal sentence after his release from state prison.
