Hamden Police Charge Man with Shooting at Group of People
Police have apprehended the suspect accused of shooting at the group as they were getting into their vehicle after leaving a party.

Hamden police have charged a New Haven man with shooting at a group of four people while they were entering their vehicle after leaving a party in June.
Javon Floyd, 25, was arrested last week on a warrant for the June 6 incident in which police responded to the area of Gorham Avenue and Pine Rock Avenue on the report of shots fired.
Investigation revealed that four friends were walking to their motor vehicle, which was parked on Gorham Avenue, after attending a party and they were followed by two individuals, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

As the group entered their vehicle, several shots were fired at them. The two individuals subsequently fled on foot, southbound on Pine Rock Avenue.
Smith said further investigation revealed that the vehicle sustained four bullet holes. There were no reported injuries.

Detective Joseph Liguori of the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Floyd.
Floyd, 25, of 58 Wayfarer Street in New Haven, was arrested July 8 and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with first-degree criminal attempt to commit assault, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief and violation of probation.
Floyd, who was detained on a court-ordered $750,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 22.
