Hamden Police Make Third Arrest in Connection with Internet Dating Home Invasion

A 15-year-old New Haven girl was arrested.

Hamden police made a third arrest in connection with a home invasion that took place after a man invited a woman he met on the Internet to his Mix Avenue apartment.

Police arrested a 15-year-old New Haven resident on Dec. 23 for her involvement in the Oct. 8 home invasion that occurred at 975 Mix Avenue.

Police said the juvenile was charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery. She was transported to the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center.

Hamden police previously arrested Nazhia Carter and Julian Foster as a result of the investigation.

The 30-year-old victim of the home invasion told police he had planned on meeting Carter, the woman he met on the Internet, at his home on Oct. 8.

Investigation revealed that while the victim was in his bedroom with Carter and her female friend, two males entered the room. A physical altercation ensued, which resulted in the victim being assaulted with a tire iron.

The two males and the two females that he invited into his residence subsequently fled. Several items were stolen from the apartment, including electronic equipment. The victim, who sustained injuries to his back, finger and nose was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue.

Foster was identified as one of the males. Upon fleeing, Foster jumped off of the balcony, falling approximately 25 to 30 feet.
