Hamden Police Seize $12K in Heroin During Drug Bust After Suspect Throws It Out of Car: PD

Police say the suspect fled from an attempted motor vehicle stop and threw a bag containing the heroin out of the car during the pursuit.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police seized 168 grams of heroin with a street value of about $12,600 during a drug bust that began with a speeding vehicle and ended with a pursuit and the suspect crashing into a police cruiser, according to police.

At about 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, Officer Mark Sheppard observed a motor vehicle traveling eastbound on Morse Street at a high rate of speed without its headlights or taillights on, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Sheppard attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop but the vehicle, which was operated by Victor Dewindt, refused to stop, according to Smith.
