Hamden Regional Chamber Choice Awards Set For Nov. 17

Several businesses and community members will be honored at the chamber's annual choice awards dinner. See the list of honorees here.

HAMDEN, CT — Several businesses and community members will be honored at the 26th Annual Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce Chamber Choice Awards on Thursday, Nov. 17 at Cascade, 480 Sherman Avenue, in Hamden.

“Since 1996, this event has impacted our region by shining a spotlight on the many people who make a difference every day in our community,” HRCC President Nancy Dudchik said in a news release. “We look forward to continuing to be the leader that provides the forum for deserving businesses and individuals to tell their story and be celebrated.”

Award recipients are selected based on their professional contributions, leadership and commitment to the community, according to the news release.

“It’s an honor for us to have so many worthy recipients, all of whom are dedicated to making this region’s business community thrive,” said Alicia Dawson, chairman of the Hamden Chamber Board of Directors.

  • D’Andrea & Pantera, DMD, Business of the Year
  • Johnson’s Duckpin Lanes, Small Business of the Year
  • Adam Sendroff, Community Advocate of the Year
  • John Sullivan, Retired Hamden Police Chief & Gary Merwede, Retired Hamden Fire Chief, Notable Citizens of the Year
  • Ian Williams, Chamber Leadership Award
  • Hamden SPCP (Strengthening Police & Community Partnerships), Service Organization
  • Dancer’s World, Women-Owned Business of the Year
  • Shaun & Lorraine Harris, Quick-Tech Computer Service, Minority-Owned Business of the Year
  • Nadine Gannon, Principal, Hamden High School, Educator of the Year
  • Alveena Hanif, Hamden High School, Business Student of the Year

Tickets for the event are $70 per person and include a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the program.

“We are excited to have Meteorologist Ashley Baylor from WTNH News 8 to emcee our event,” the news release states.
