
HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating a Friday shooting that left a 46-year-old Hamden man injured.
The shooting was reported around 1 a.m. Friday in the area of Dixwell Avenue and Woodin Street, said Capt. Ronald Smith, police spokesman.
The victim stopped at a gas station to purchase gasoline and was approached by a black man in his 20's who is 6'2'' and had braided hair. The victim opened his door and the suspect stumbled backwards.

The victim saw a firearm in the suspect's hand and fled in his vehicle toward Fourth Street, Smith said. The suspect fired several shots and struck the victim multiple times.
