Hamden Woman Bequeathed $65k For Food, Fuel Assistance

The woman who passed away made one final donation to food and fuel assistance in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — The trust of a former Hamden woman gave $65,000 to help feed and keep people warm in town. The late Elizabeth Hutchinson was a longtime supporter of the Hamden food bank and donated the money to the town's food and fuel assistance program.

The food bank was used by more than 5,400 people in 2017 and the need for fuel assistance depends on winter weather conditions, according to the New Haven Register.
