New List Of Road Closures And Where Wires Are Down: UPDATE
As of this time, there is no direct route to drive from northern Hamden into Cheshire or Bethany.

UPDATE: Below is a list of road closures, due to low hanging wires, fallen trees, and damaged utility poles:
- Shepard Avenue and Hillfield Road
- Whitney Avenue and Evergreen Avenue
- Whitney avenue and Mount Carmel Avenue
- Whitney Avenue and Sherman Avenue
- Whitney Avenue and West Woods Road
The following roads have low hanging wires and fallen trees:
- Andover Road
- Booth Terrace
- Berkeley Court
- Chestnut Lane
- Choate Avenue
- Corene Drive
- Darley Drive
- Dunbar Hill Road
- Gaylord Mountain Road
- Guenevere Court
- Hideaway Lane
- Hillview Avenue
- Hillfield Road
- Hotchkiss Lane
- Johnson Road
- Julian Drive
- Leatherman Trail
- Mount Carmel Avenue
- New Road
- Paradise Avenue
- River Road
- Rocky Top Road
- Shepard Avenue
- Still Hill Road
- Todd Street
- Tuttle Avenue
- Westminster Street
- Whitney Avenue
Trees have fallen on 5 houses. Two trees have fallen on Hill Street homes. The other damaged homes are on Shepard Avenue, Sunwood Circle and Westminster Street.

There are several disabled motor vehicles scattered throughout the town, due to fallen trees.
HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Police Department and Hamden Fire Department have responded to numerous public hazards over the past 12 hours. Throughout the northern section of town, several streets are impassable, due to low hanging wires, fallen trees and damaged utility poles.

The following is a list of road closures:
Whitney Avenue (between the Cheshire town line and River Road) – several utility poles and trees in the roadway.
Gaylord Mountain Road (between Todd Street and the Bethany town line) – low hanging wires and fallen trees
Shepard Avenue (between Whitney Avenue and West Shepard Avenue) – low hanging wires and fallen trees
Brooksvale Avenue, Choate Avenue, Hamden Hills Drive, Hillfield Road, Johnson Road, New Road and Paradise Avenue – low hanging wires and fallen trees.
There are officers stationed at several of these locations. Other areas are cordoned off with barricades. Please proceed with extreme caution.
