Home Struck By Gunfire From Speeding Vehicles: Hamden Police
Police are investigating after a driver was seen firing shots at another vehicle that was speeding through Hamden on Thursday evening.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden home was struck by gunfire from an incident involving two vehicles that were speeding through Dix Street with one of the drivers firing shots from the vehicle on Thursday evening, according to police. Hamden Police responded to the area of Dix Street at about 7:30 p.m. on May 4 on the report of shots fired, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that two motor vehicles were traveling on Dix Street at a high rate of speed. The operator of the “following vehicle” was observed holding a firearm, according to Smith. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The vehicles proceeded onto George Street, toward Dixwell Avenue, and several gunshots were heard throughout the incident, according to Smith. There were no reported injuries.

Officers determined that a residence on Dixwell Avenue and Dix Street were struck by gunfire during the incident, Smith said.
