Illegal Dumping Suspects Sought In Hamden: Police

Police say the ongoing illegal dumping became so "egregious" that the Public Works Department installed cameras in the area.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying suspects in connection to an ongoing case of illegal dumping in Hamden. Police met with a Town of Hamden Public Works Supervisor on Nov. 30 regarding the issue.

Hamden Police learned that several items, including roofing shingles, have been “illegally dumped” on Mountain Road in the recent past, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. The Public Works Department reported that the dumping became so “egregious” that they found it necessary to install cameras in the area, Smith said.

Another illegal dumping incident occurred on Mountain Road on Nov. 28. The camera images depict two individuals dumping roofing shingles, Smith said. The suspects are described as a white or Hispanic male with a dark beard and a black male. Their motor vehicle is described as a “dark-colored Dodge Dakota.”
