Injured Owl Found In Hamden

The owl is recovering well after a trip to a rehabilitation center.

HAMDEN, CT — An injured owl is recovering well after being found in Hamden, according to police. Hamden Animal Control Officer Christopher Smith responded to Elmer Avenue on the report of an injured owl and found the pictured Male Barred Owl.

Smith took the owl to “A Place Called Hope,” a raptor rehabilitation center in Killingworth, according to police.

“The initial exam indicated an injury to a wing, and that the bird was underweight but is now doing better!!,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.
