Intoxicated Hamden Man Found Asleep Inside His Running Car in Orange: Police

Orange police said when they arrived the man was asleep and they quickly put the car in "park."

ORANGE, CT — A man was found asleep in his car, which was found in the middle of the road, police said.

Officers responded to the intersection of Grassy Hill Road and Derby-Milford Road in Orange at 3:10 a.m. on Sept. 25 and found the arrestee, Ralph Ruggiero, 32, of Hamden asleep in his vehicle in the middle of the roadway, police said.

Officers woke the arrestee, placed the car in ‘park,’ and had Ruggiero perform standardized roadside sobriety tests, police said. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with DUI and driving a motor vehicle without a license.
