Knife-Wielding Teen, 15, Charged With Burglary: Hamden Police

Police say the teen fought with two other juveniles and forcibly entered a home.

HAMDEN, CT — A knife-wielding teen was arrested after police say he threatened other teens and forcibly entered a home in Hamden. Police responded to Dix Street on April 5 on the report of threatening, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that two juveniles were involved in a physical altercation and one of them had a knife. Shortly thereafter, the teen that had the knife followed another juvenile into his home and a fight ensued once they were inside, according to Smith. The teen fled from the scene when the police were alerted.

Moments later, Officer Matthew Barbuto saw the teen that fought with the two youths, wielded a knife and forcibly entered a residence, walking on Dix Street and arrested him, according to Smith.

The juvenile, a 15-year-old Hamden resident, was charged with second-degree burglary, threatening and disorderly conduct. He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on April 19.
