Liquor Store Robbed at Gunpoint in Hamden: Police

Police say the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and a bottle of liquor.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are investigating the armed robbery of A.L.K. Liquors in which the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money and a bottle of liquor.

Police responded to the store, located at 1651 Dixwell Avenue, at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18 on the report of an armed robbery.

The suspect entered the store, while in the possession of a firearm, walked to the front counter and “pushed” the firearm into the clerk’s chest, while demanding money from the cash register, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the man subsequently fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and a bottle of liquor.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, 5-feet, 10-inches tall with a thin build, and was wearing a dark-colored mask.
