Man, 67, Stabbed While Being Robbed Of $4: Hamden Police
The elderly man was attacked while walking to work early Tuesday morning, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A 67-year-old man suffered a severe stab wound after being robbed of $4 while walking to work early Tuesday morning in Hamden, according to police. At about 4:15 a.m. on Nov. 20, Hamden Police responded to Yale-New Haven Hospital (Saint Raphael Campus) on the report of a street robbery, involving a stabbing, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that a 67-year-old Hamden resident was walking to work on Goodrich Street and was followed by two men. The men approached him and asked him for money. They then attacked the elderly victim, while stealing four dollars from him, according to Smith.
Moments later, the victim told police that he felt “tingling” on his hand and realized that he was suffering from a severe stab wound, Smith said. A co-worker of the victim, who arrived on Goodrich Street shortly thereafter, took him to the hospital.

The victim told police that the men had a “dark black complexion” and were in their 20s. They were wearing brown jackets and jeans.
