Man Assaulted, Another Found Shot Outside Hamden Bar

BREAKING: Police are investigating the motive behind the assault and shooting.

HAMDEN, CT — One man was shot and another assaulted in Hamden early Sunday morning, according to police.

Hamden police responded to Slyce Pizza at around 2:20 a.m. for the report of shots fired. Officers found the first of two victims, a 28-year-old man, who they say was physically assaulted and might have been struck by a car exiting the parking lot.

A second victim, a 26-year-old man, was found on Pine Rock Avenue with a gunshot wound to his upper back. Police say his injuries are considered non-life threatening. After investigation, police said they found the man was shot inside his vehicle while exiting the location.

The motive for the assault and the shooting is under investigation.
