Man Assaulted Woman After Break-In: Hamden Police

The man is accused of assaulting a woman, who was known to him, after forcing his way into her home, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man is accused of assaulting a woman who was known to him after breaking into her home last summer. Frederick Cox, 29, was arrested on a warrant Feb. 26 for the incident that occurred in July 2019, according to police.

Police found that Cox forced his way into the home and assaulted the woman in front of three young children.

Cox, of Winthrop Avenue in New Haven, was charged with second-degree burglary, three counts of risk of injury to a minor, second-degree breach of peace and violation of a protective order. He was detained on a court-ordered $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 27.
