Man Bought $1K In Items With Stolen Credit Card: Hamden Police

Police are asking for help with identifying a man they say bought more than $1,000 worth of items at Walmart with a stolen credit card.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a man they say used a Hamden resident’s stolen credit card to buy more than $1,000 worth of items from Walmart in New Haven.

A resident on Second Street reported to police on Sept. 13 that her credit card was used to buy $1,058.45 worth of stolen merchandise at Walmart in New Haven, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Following an investigation by Officer Andrew Lipford, police determined that the suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with a “short, lean athletic build,” and was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt, according to Smith. The suspect is frequently seen in the Second Street area, Smith said.
