Two children, ages 8 and 11 months, were injured in the rollover crash and weren't properly restrained in their car seats, police said.

HAMDEN, CT — A Waterbury man faces several charges after police say he was speeding when he lost control of a car that crashed into a utility police, injuring two young children — ages 8 and 11 months — in March. The children weren’t properly restrained in their car seats, according to police.

The rollover crash occurred in the area of 1400 Whitney Avenue on March 17. Investigation revealed that Quinne Davis was operating a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed and subsequently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to strike a utility pole and then rollover, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said two young children, ages 8 and 11 months, were injured in the crash and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The 8-year-old suffered serious injuries. Further investigation revealed that the children were not properly restrained in their car seats, according to Smith.
