Man Charged With Shooting 2 People In Parking Lot: Hamden Police
The man was arrested on a warrant.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man has been arrested in connection to the shooting of two people in a parking lot in Hamden last year, according to police. On Sept. 30, 2018, Hamden Police responded to the parking lot, located at 940 Dixwell Ave., on the report of a shooting, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said police located two shooting victims — a 39-year-old Hamden resident who suffered a gunshot wound to her thigh and a 31-year-old Hamden resident who was shot in his ankle. They were both taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.
Det. Matthew Barbuto conducted an investigation that led to an arrest warrant for Raymond Morris, who was arrested by New Haven Police on Jan. 28 on Winthrop Avenue, according to Smith. He was subsequently turned over to the Hamden Police Department.

Morris, 33, of Farnham Avenue in New Haven, was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. Morris, who was detained on a court-ordered $200,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 12.
