Man Exposed Himself To Teen At Library In Hamden: Police

Police are asking for help identifying a man accused of exposing himself to a teen at a library in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help identifying a man accused of exposing himself to an 18-year-old girl at Miller Memorial Library in Hamden. At about 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 9, police responded to Miller Memorial Library, located at 2901 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of suspicious activity, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that an 18-year-old Hamden resident was “studying on the third floor” when she was approached by an unidentified man. The man engaged her in a short conversation, then stood in front of her and “exposed his genitals,” according to Smith. To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.

A staff member attempted to detain the man as he left the library, according to Smith. He then entered a blue Audi station wagon and fled northbound on Dixwell Avenue. The suspect is described as a black male, 5-feet, 10-inches tall with an average build and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and pajama bottoms.
