Man Found With Stolen Gun, Drugs: Hamden Police
Police say the man was found to be in the possession of a loaded gun and drugs during a traffic stop early Monday morning.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested after police say he was found with a stolen gun and multiple bags of marijuana during a traffic stop early Monday morning in Hamden. At about 2 a.m. on June 18, an officer conducted the motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Arch Street and Fitch Street.
While approaching the vehicle, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. A subsequent search of the operator of the vehicle, Dennis Wilborne, and the interior of the vehicle led to the discovery of multiple bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, $417 and a loaded .380 handgun, Smith said.
Wilborne, 29, of Parkside Drive in New Haven, was arrested on charges of carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a stolen firearm, weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and no turn signal.

Wilborne, who was detained on a $10,000 bond, was scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on June 18.
