Man Receives Non-Life Threatening Injuries After Being Shot in Hamden
Police say early Saturday morning shooting involved an 'AK-47 type' weapon.

A man received non-life threatening injuries after being shot in the arm with what police described as an “AK-47 type” weapon early Saturday morning in the area of Goodrich Street.
Hamden police responded to the area of Goodrich Street and Dixwell Avenue on a report of shots fired at about 2 a.m. Saturday. The victim was shot in the arm in the area of Gem Street and Goodrich Street before fleeing into New Haven where he was being treated by New Haven Fire Department personnel as well as AMR personnel when Hamden officers arrived, according to a Hamden police press release.
The victim was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said that evidence collected at the scene indicated that the shots were fired from an AK-47 type weapon.
