HAMDEN, CT — Two people were robbed in separate incidents within about 40 minutes of each other Thursday morning in Hamden, according to police. In one of the incidents, a man was robbed at gunpoint while in his driveway, police said.
Police responded to the first robbery at 8:27 a.m. at Pearl Dental Care at 1834 Dixwell Ave., according to Capt. Ronald Smith. A 58-year-old woman arrived at work and was walking toward the front door when a dark-colored SUV stopped next to her, according to Smith.
A “young” man got out of the SUV and demanded her purse, Smith said. She refused and was “taken to the ground,” according to Smith. The man then left in the SUV, heading east on Robert Street.
